Sitges Carnival 2022
We couldn’t be more excited for the return of the well-known Sitges carnival, and know we’re not the only ones. Last year the celebration of the event had to be canceled after more than 100 years of tradition, so this must be the most anticipated carnival to this day!
The “collas” or groups return with their sequin and feather costumes, the floats, the dances and the music that make thousands of visitors return every year in search of fun and a different experience. This year’s carnival will be held between the 24th of February and the 2nd of March, including in its program the float parades (rúas) for both adults and children.
We also have the return of the bed race, in which groups of people from Sitges choose a theme and “disguise” a bed in order to win a race along with other groups through the streets of Sitges. Of course we won’t miss the presentation of the Carnival Queen, the “Arrival” of Majesty Carnestoltes and all the other scheduled events – this year we’re having our carnival back!
The parades will take place on Sunday, February 27th and Tuesday, March 1st; children at 12pm and adults at 7pm. The route has been modified, and will be the shown next on both days:
