Halloween, also in Sitges!

The scariest time of the year is approaching… and you don’t know how you’re going to celebrate? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered with all the information you need.

In spite of being Halloween a party that’s not usually celebrated in Spain, in Sitges they’ve been adopting traditions like these since along time ago, thanks to its great cultural variety in terms of inhabitants and visitors who come throughout the year. In addition, for these dates the “castañada” is celebrated in Catalonia; a tradition originally celebrated on All Saints Day (November 1st).

About the castañada, if you’ve never heard of it, it’s not much more than what its name implies. It refers to the tradition of eating chestnuts made on fire that, every year at this time, you can find at different stops in the streets of the town. They also eat “panellets”, a traditional Catalan sweet that occupies all the Catalan bakeries counters in Autumn.

There are also several places in and around Sitges that celebrate Halloween, so you’ll find all kinds of parties for different types of audiences. From exhibitions to costume parties, you have several options to choose from.

It all depends on your tastes, but we are happy to help you and recommend you if you have any questions! Don’t hesitate in visiting our website and contacting us.
