With the Gay Pride, summer parties like San Juan, the Corpus (which if you don’t know, you shouldn’t miss it one more year), the Jardines del Terramar festival… we are going to make a brief summary of this awaited sunny season.
To begin with, from June 1st to June 10th, we have the Gay Pride, which for years has been a benchmark gay festival in Europe that brings together visitors from all over the world every year, and is improving edition after edition. Sun, beach, good music and spectacular shows and parties all day long.
From the 22nd to the 30th the Corpus fest is celebrated, a millenary tradition that is still maintained today thanks to the collaboration of all the Sitges inhabitants. The streets are covered with beautiful carpets of flowers of all kinds, each with its design and different materials (the day on which the carpets are exposed is the 23rd). An astonishing show, without any doubt!
The night of San Juan, which as every year is celebrated on the 23rd, is a night in which the Sitges beaches are filled with people having dinner, making bonfires, throwing fireworks… whether you like to throw firecrackers or you like to see the ones thrown by others, to enjoy the special verbena dinners offered by the best restaurants in Sitges.. many call it the magical night, and with good reason: it is one of the most anticipated festivities among the Spaniards.
Towards July and August of course there are also events that make the summer an ideal season to enjoy holidays here: among the most outstanding are the Jardines del Terramar festival and the Sitges “Festa Major”. The Terramar festival is held relatively recently but has surprised its visitors in each edition. This year the poster is led by legends such as George Benson and Rick Astley, among other great artists. Also, the location is beautiful and the prices very affordable.
