Flowers and books for perfect memories
From the 14th to the 22nd of April the Holy Week or Easter is celebrated in Sitges, a festivity that, with long sunny days and fantastic weather, reminds us that we’re not that far from summer.
A tradition that has been celebrated for centuries and is still celebrated around the world, fills the streets of Sitges with families who stroll enjoying the sun and the good atmosphere. “Semana Santa” is, without a doubt, a very good opportunity to visit Sitges and enjoy its people and, above all, its culture.
Another tradition that takes place on April 23, just after Holy Week, is Sant Jordi. A party typically celebrated in Catalonia that has a beautiful story of love and courage behind, in which couples (and not couples) give roses and books between them. It’s a wonderful tradition since in April of every year the streets are filled with literature, culture and a lot of roses.
In Sitges, specifically, on the seafront you can find numerous stops where you can find both new and second-hand books, and all kinds of roses and bouquets decorated with the Sant Jordi day motif.
